GTA 6 CHEAT VERIFICATION POLICY

How GTA6CheatsList separates tracked cheat topics from confirmed GTA VI information, and how a cheat moves from a claim to a verified entry.

THE BASIC RULE

We prefer NOT VERIFIED over publishing a GTA VI code that we cannot support. A tracked cheat topic is not the same thing as a confirmed activation input.

What “Not Verified” Means

A cheat can be listed because players are searching for it or because the effect is relevant to the GTA cheat system, while the exact GTA VI input or result remains unconfirmed.

A page marked NOT VERIFIED intentionally does not present a controller combination as a working GTA VI code.

What Qualifies as Verified?

A cheat moves to VERIFIED only when reliable GTA VI-specific evidence supports the activation input and resulting effect. The page should also be clear about platform and relevant limitations.

Game The evidence must relate specifically to GTA VI, not simply an earlier Grand Theft Auto title.
Input The activation method must be identifiable clearly enough to document.
Effect The claimed result should match what the code actually produces.
Platform PS5 and Xbox Series X|S instructions are kept separate when their controls differ.
Source The claim should be traceable to reliable evidence rather than an unattributed repost.

How We Review a Cheat Claim

  1. Identify the claim. Record the cheat effect and the claimed input.
  2. Confirm the game. Check that the evidence is actually about GTA VI.
  3. Check the platform. Avoid assuming a PlayStation input is identical to an Xbox input.
  4. Check the effect. Compare the claimed result with the evidence available.
  5. Update the page. If reliable evidence supports the claim, publish the input, effect, platform and relevant limitations.

What We Do Not Treat as Confirmation

The following can be useful leads, but they are not enough on their own to label a GTA VI cheat as verified:

  • Codes copied from GTA V or older Grand Theft Auto games.
  • Unattributed cheat lists with no identifiable source.
  • Social posts that show a button sequence but do not establish that it works in GTA VI.
  • Claims repeated across multiple sites when the sites are simply copying one another.
  • AI-generated or automatically assembled lists that provide no verifiable evidence.
IMPORTANT

A familiar-looking button combination is not proof that it works in GTA VI. The exact game, input, effect and platform still need to be established.

How Updates Are Recorded

Individual cheat pages use a visible verification status and review date. When a code becomes verified, the page is updated with the exact input and effect rather than silently changing an earlier claim.

The policy is applied to the individual cheat pages and the site's main GTA 6 cheat-code guide.
